How to modify capitalism

Capitalism is good? Capitalism is bad? This is not the point. It is a fact that how capitalism is now and the way people deal with it is a dangerous mix. We have tried communism and it has not grown well. If we start something completely new we have considerable risks. Something completely new means to start with risks. The important question is how we can improve our mix of economic systems with little risks only.

The basic concept

We are skeptical to changes whose outcome is highly uncertain. But we can develop a consensus for long-term goals. This consensus will serve as an orientation for each of our next steps. We ask what we want to achieve at long-term. The answer might be:
We want a society that stands on solid ground, a society where no people are in distress, a society harmonious and open for new experiences, a society in which everyone has a chance to live his life and hardly anyone will feel like an outsider.

Penury and abundance

All persons should have access to food, needed care, social gatherings and a place to rest. Things going beyond are often overestimated. It is important to realize that about half of harvested food will rot or will go away without ever having served as food and a considerable part of other goods never reach its true purpose. If there weren't so many things that go wrong as it is now, then we would have excess or at least not as much distress and overexploitation. People who wait for someone to bring them happiness and satisfaction are unhappy. But if anybody no matter if he is healthy, sick or retired, sees a chance to improve something alone or with others, then he will have a motivation. His work can bring him success and satisfaction he never will reach by only waiting on happiness. Everyone needs a goal to which he can contribute something in order to achieve peace. Almost everyone needs patterns and crash barriers so that he does not get lost because of the many existing possibilities.

Forward in the direction of the target

If we can find common interests and goals, the most difficult part of the work is done. Then comes the execution. If people doing the right thing are disadvantaged and greedy and irresponsible people pull out benefits of a situation, then something in the laws, in the social consensus or in the existing structures is not alright. This indicates that the laws or the social consensus need adaptation. This is fundamental and important. The prods for appropriate behavior must be set correctly. Wherever there is a need for action, small steps have to be taken, always the goal in mind, always steps in the direction of the targets. There will often be wrong decisions that need to be corrected later. Nevertheless, the way of many small steps in the right direction is much more promising and less dangerous, than trying to remain in an instable situation.

Renitencies

We must treat the profiteers of the current situation carefully and understand that they do not like to abandon their arguments justifying the imbalance and the obvious favoritism. We must help to remove their fear against a change. They must be convinced that for them and their descendants, a society that offers opportunities for all, a clean and open society, will be the best long term solution.

Hope

It is much easier to transform our society so that it will be more beneficial to the earth and better for people than trying to repair our social structure without major adjustments.
Our knowledge and our range of social and economic performances are sufficient to much better than what we have now. If we manage to convince the profiteers of the current situation and develop a strong belief in a better future, then we can do better than we might think now.
