Happiness and society 1
The unrealized promise
Everything will be better. Everything will be more beautiful. The leisure-society, which was announced in the second half of the 20th Century, should be now a reality. Our global economic capacity is enormous, the level of existing technologies as well. For everyone on earth is a little work to do and we would have a beautiful life. We should have enough free time for gardening, for arts and crafts, time to care for people who need it, and for social life. But the reality is different. Some people are suffering under a big burden of work and many others have lost their place in society, because they can not find a job. What did happen? If you see our technological possibilities, we have a kind of paradise on earth. The most important reason why this paradise just do not want to get closer is probably the stupidity of us to ignore the existing problems instead to cope with them.
The failure of economic theory
Economic theorists should show spaces to the public, which can be opened by politicians for a healthy economic development. Instead of that, many economists stick benefiting on powerful people and boast their actions. Some conceal their failure by making absurd claims to the public. Some examples:
Everyone has to work harder and longer. How can it be possible if there is a lack of jobs?
We must claim the big maximum from every worker to remain worldwide competitive. Who exploits the worker the most wins!
The beautiful and the important things for people, we can not do, because they do not pay. What is the aim of business, if it is not here for human?
A company must have a worldwide organization, and be able to offer and deliver worldwide within a short period. This is not ecological.
Wee need more children to assure the social security and we must have less children in order to reduce the negative influence of human on the earth.
We must deal carefully with the earth and increase the gross national product every year.
We also need to do socially and environmentally dubious things to increase the added value and to assure jobs and the social welfare.
Economic experts say such things. They claim to be competent, but are not. Measures are necessary to maintain the Earth as a habitat for people, but there are also groupes with special interests which constrain appropriate measures. Things have to be changed to maintain the Earth as a habitat for people, but influent groups defending special interests constrain appropriate measures.
Errors in the present
The inheritance of economic power constrains and paralyzes a healthy development. A company who has no useful function anymore, should make room for a new society. Against all ecological principles the life cycle of companies is often prolongated. If a company suffers, the market will be studied, the advertising and the sales department are professionalized and sometimes a company will even be treated preferentially or supported by the government. Sometimes the life cycle of companies is extended in an unnatural way.
„Dinosaurs“ may be saved by injections of money. Inappropriate work will continue. Energy and other resources are consumed for meaningless actions. People stick on the past for the maintenance of economic power and for the jobs that should be maintained.
Economy is too cumbersome to follow the needs of people and the signs of time. A naturally functioning economy would provide their infrastructure for new ideas and new tasks. People with new views, goals and fresh ideas should have more opportunities to realize them.
Lots of societies are still considered as important, but they have no or very little utility and contribute nothing or little to human happiness. They serve only to make money. It is a pity for the misguided motivation and for the consumed resources. Our version of capitalism brings people to act below their own normal level and to do things being harmful to human and to the nature.
